It’s been a disappointing season for Michigan but at least the Wolverines gave their fans a big victory last night in their last home game on the schedule, blowing out Minnesota 83-to-55 at Crisler Arena. DeShawn Sims had 23 points and Manny Harris 22 for the Wolverines, who hit 60% from the floor. Michigan improved to 7-and-10 in the Big Ten and 14-and-15 overall.

Ohio State last night clinched at least a share of a Big Ten regular season title as the Buckeyes cruised past Illinois 73-to-57 in Columbus.

The top-ranked school in the nation, Syracuse, won last night, playing in its first game in 20-years as the number-one team in the country, with a comfortable 85-to-66 victory over St. John’s that also gave the Orangemen their first outright Big East title since 1991. Meanwhile, Detroit Mercy last night won its first round Horizon League tournament game with an 89-to-82 victory at Valparaiso.
