(Minneapolis, MN) -- A West Virginia man has been sentenced to 30 months in federal prison for mailing explosives to a resident in Houston, Minnesota last July. Fifty-six-year-old Mark Anderson admitted to sending a package containing a device that could ignite or explode and that his intent was to injure the person. The recipient notified the Houston County sheriff after finding two sticks of dynamite connected to fuses and cords. The device did not detonate when it was opened. Prosecutors say Anderson used to live in the southeastern Minnesota town.
