(St. Paul, MN)  --  The Minnesota Department of Transportation is encouraging residents across the state to bike or walk to work this week.  State officials say the goal of "Bike-Walk Week" is to make biking and walking an easy and fun choice. A bicycle is a legal vehicle on all Minnesota roads except the the Interstate and restricted roadways.
Mn-DOT bike coordinator Lisa Austin says this Thursday is a big day with celebrations in the Twin Cities, Rochester, Duluth, and St. Cloud.  Minnesota was recently named the fourth most bicycle-friendly state in the U-S.
