HOLLAND -- (WHTC) It was part politics, part economic development as President Obama pressed his agenda with a speech in very Republican Holland.  President Obama took part in a groundbreaking ceremony for the new LG Chem battery factory in Holland Township.

He said clean energy is a jobs producer and a key part of his economic recovery strategy.

In the wake of the BP oil disaster in the Gulf of Mexico, Obama has been making an aggressive push for clean energy as an alternative to oil.  Obama insisted that the national economy is headed in the right direction, coming to the heart of Republican territory to make the point.
