Minnesota's unemployment rate dropped slightly in June to six-point-eight percent. It was an even seven percent in May. Dan McElroy with the Department of Employment and Economic Development says despite the lower rate, employers shed 37-hundred jobs during the month, primarily U.S. Census positions that were filled on a temporary basis. He says the biggest gain was in leisure and hospitality. Job losses in the state were led by trade, transportation and utilities. There were also slight losses in construction and manufacturing, both down 900 jobs.
