(Undated) -- For the first time in three decades, teen pregnancy is on the rise in Minnesota. Brigid Riley with Minnesota Organization on Adolescent Pregnancy, Prevention and Parenting says Minnesota has always had one of the lowest teen pregnancy rates in the country but has been following the national trend the past two years. She says pregnancy rates for caucasian girls in Minnesota are among the lowest in the country, but in other racial or ethnic groups the rates are two- to six-times higher than the national average. Riley says in the last few years, fewer young people who are sexually active are using protection.
