(St.Paul, MN) -- Some retailers are finally showing signs of life while others are still struggling with the economy. University of St. Thomas professor Dave Brennan says the most recent sales figures show the ups and downs. Motor vehicle and parts were up a little over two percent, furniture and home furnishing stores were down about six percent, and consumer electronics and appliance stores are down seven-point-six percent. Brennan says consumer confidence is up a bit and more people are putting money into savings accounts. He says we are not climbing out of the recession so much as inching our way out.
