(St. Paul, MN) -- Minnesota's deer season is now in the muzzleloader phase -- the final stage of the annual hunt. The DNR's Lou Cornicelli says it's been a good season, thanks to favorable weather and extra deer left over from last year's hunt. As usual, most of the animals were taken during the first three days of the firearms season. Cornicelli says the muzzleloader season runs from now through December 12th. He says deer hunting is a very big deal in Minnesota with about 500-thousand hunters and millions of dollars for local economies.
