(Undated)  --  In just eight days, 16 people have now died in traffic crashes across Minnesota.  Monday's collision that killed three in Dakota County plus the death of a man in a Polk County crash, follows Sunday's head-on accident in Cambridge, which killed six.  There was also Saturday night's crash near Onamia, which killed a 16-year-old girl, and a Friday accident in southeastern Minnesota, which killed three teenage girls.

Safety officials are feeling sadness and frustration over the heavy loss of life on state roads in recent days involving a number of teens.  State law says when a teen is driving, only one person under 20 is allowed as a passenger.  Triple A-Minnesota's Gail Weinholzer says there's good reason for that.  She says as we age and add passengers into our vehicles, we actually drive safer.  But with teens, the more passengers you put into a vehicle, the far-higher chances of crashing.
