After more than a decade of co-hosting the "World's Most Widely Listened-To Sports-Talk Show" with Patrick Reusse on AM 1500 KSTP, Joe Soucheray began hosting an afternoon radio show...solo.
Joe's first act was to establish his own town, Garage Logic, where, unlike any other town in Minnesota (and the USA?), Common Sense is the single guiding principle. It is located "down the road from Diversityville, but not as far as Liberal Lakes." Since its inception, listeners have been relocating to this growing municipality in record numbers. The last census showed Garage Logic as the state's fourth largest city with a population of 100,000.
As the self-appointed Mayor of Garage Logic, Joe is sometimes referred to as "Your Honor." He and G.L. residents enjoy power equipment (chain saws, weed whips, belt sanders, etc.), interrogating candidates for public office in their garages, the cohesiveness of neighborhoods, and minding their own business. Joe's well-known hobby is restoring antique boats.
Before he became Mayor, Joe's checkered past included many diverse occupations ... assembly-line worker and faucet manufacturer, corrugated cardboard worker and rock band drummer ("Bananas"). In addition to holding down his weekly Mayoral post on AM 1500 KSTP, Joe also is a featured columnist in the St. Paul Pioneer-Press.
He also is affectionately referred to as "the kindly curmudgeon."
