Two interesting takeaways from this piece. First, Shaw and Volokh both make an important point. Courts seem to be saying that banning high capacity magazines will do little to stop horrific shootings. Well, then what's the point. And Shaw's argument about the slippery slope is valid. If a ban on ammo capacity is constitutional, at what number of rounds does it become unconstitutional. 9? 7? 4? 1?
The anti-gun crowd knows this is a pointless ban. That's why you should fear it. They're not going to stop here.
