“A dream is a short journey into the unconscious." - Diane Von Furstenberg
I dreamt that I was lost in an amusement park and couldn't get out of the park to go home. It was like being in a place with no exit, it just continued on and on. – Karen 38, Denver, CO
Lauri: Are you in a situation or state of mind in waking life that you can't get out of? The amusement park suggests that it is a situation that ought to be thrilling and enjoyable but perhaps you've grown tired of it. Something has happened to the point it is no longer fun. Your dream is trying to show you that the situation or mindset WILL go on and on and on until you do something about it.
Karen replies: Good insight! In February of 2009 my husband and I decided to allow my best friend into our relationship, forming a triad. For the first year and a half it was great, and even I in my skepticism and fear found myself really happy with this new fire in our relationship and pleasantly surprised at how good it felt. But for the past 6 months, the fire has all but gone out, and I can tell she wants to pull away but somehow salvage our friendship. The romance is gone between her and my husband. Sex has stopped. They don't get along with each other, but both get along with me just fine (my husband and I fight about her often). I am the "glue" holding the triad together. But I am tired of it. I am tired of defending him to her. I am content going back to being just friends with her and back to my normal marriage, but my husband doesn't want to let her go, and if I pull the trigger to end the whole thing it's possible it could end my marriage too. So what was once fun and thrilling is now not fun at all and more of a burden than a joy.
