TOBACCO COMPANY BACKS OUT OF CLARKSON SHOW

 

Kelly Clarkson called her standoff with a tobacco company that was sponsoring her show in Indonesia a “lose-lose” situation because she didn’t want to promote smoking, but she refused to cancel her show on behalf of her fans. Now it seems that the situation has turned into a win-win. The Associated Press is reporting that cigarette company L-A Lights will pull their sponsorship from Kelly’s show, which is set to take place in the country’s capitol of Jakarta on Thursday. The promoter of the concert said it was because of protests from fans and anti-smoking groups.

 

GLEE/MADONNA SOUNDTRACK TO BE NUMBER ONE

 

Tuesday’s Madonna-centered episode of Glee was a big night for the show and for the Queen of Pop, and it appears that next week will be big for both again. www.HitsDailyDouble.com is reporting that the soundtrack to the episode titled Glee: The Power of Madonna is set to debut at the top of the Billboard album chart with somewhere from 100 to 120-thousand albums sold.

 

KINGS OF LEON INSPIRED BY SOONERS

 

Kings of Leon are currently in the studio working on their fifth album, the follow-up to their platinum selling Only By The Night. So what are they looking to for inspiration? Drummer Nathan Followill has been sending updates via Twitter and he recently posted a pic of a huge Oklahoma Sooners banner in their studio saying the team’s been an inspiration. ALICIA, ERYKAH ON SEX & THE CITY SOUNDTRACK!

 

Alicia Keys will offer a revamped version of “Empire State Of Mind” and cover Blondie’s “Rapture” for the upcoming Sex & The City 2 soundtrack. According to SingersRoom.com, Keys will join Erykah Badu, Cee-Lo and Dido on the set, as well as previously confirmed singers Leona Lewis and Jennifer Hudson. While there is no confirmed release date for the soundtrack, Sex and The City 2 is scheduled to hit in theaters on May 27th.

 

RIHANNA SLIPS AND FALLS

 

During a recent concert, midway through her performance of “Let Me,” Rihanna lost her footing and fell on her butt. This might be the first time we’ve ever seen Ri Ri trip up so badly.

JONAS AND LOVATO TEAM UP FOR OCEANS

 

Joe Jonas has teamed up with Demi Lovato for the song “Make a Wave,” which is featured on the soundtrack for Oceans. The documentary, which takes a closer look at ocean-dwelling creatures, is narrated by Pierce Brosnan and opened yesterday, Earth Day. Jonas was asked by Friends for Change: Project Green to record a song for the flick. The organization is a multi-platform environmental initiative that encourages kids to make thoughtful decisions about the environment.
