NEW BOOK FROM TWILIGHT AUTHOR! Get ready Twilight fans, because author Stephanie Meyer is putting out a new book. It’s called The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner and it will hit stores on June 5th. According to the Associated Press, it will be a novella told from the viewpoint of “Bree,” a vampire featured in the book Eclipse. Also, one dollar from each book sold from the first printing of 1.5-million copies will be donated to the Red Cross.

FLIGHT CREW CALLS COPS ON BELUSHI! The crew of an American Airlines flight made sure cops were waiting when the plane landed in Vegas after Jim Belushi got into a mid-flight argument. It all started after the flight attendant woke Belushi up from a nap as the plane began its descent. According to TMZ, Jim was less than thrilled with being awoken and made such a scene that the captain requested police be at the gate. However, authorities felt no crime had been committed and let Jim go on his way.

LEVI JOHNSTON REALITY SHOW? Sarah Palin might not be the only person seeking a reality show. According to www.EOnline.com, Levi Johnston is shopping his own series this week. The outlet is reporting it will be an odd mix of shows like The Bachelor and Man vs. Wild and will take place in Alaska with Levi and his guy friends as the stars.

DWTS TOPS MONDAY’S RATINGS! Dancing with the Stars scored over 22-million viewers to top the ratings on Monday night. However, the show’s overall viewers were down about 13 percent from last week. ABC’s Castle also nabbed its highest ratings to date.

LOST STAR GETS MARRIED! Yunjin Kim, better known as “Sun” on Lost, got married! According to E! Online, the actress confirmed that she tied the knot in Hawaii over the weekend with manager Jeong Hyeok Park. The couple first met in 2002.

FOXX PRODUCING SKETCH COMEDY SHOW! Jamie Foxx is working on a new sketch comedy show for FOX that will be very similar to In Living Color – which Jamie starred on in the ‘90s. According to The Hollywood Reporter, FOX already picked up a pilot for the project, which will be co-produced by the creators of MadTV. As yet, there is no title for the show and no one has been cast on it.

KELSEY GRAMMER PAYS 10 BUCKS! According to www.TMZ.com, Kelsey Grammer just paid 10 dollars to make a lawsuit over his film Swing Vote disappear. Kelsey and a host of others were sued back in August 2008 by Bradley Blakeman, who claimed the movie was his idea. The judge threw out claims against star Kevin Costner, Disney and the other defendants, leaving only Grammer. Blakeman accepted a settlement of 10 dollars from Kelsey about a week ago.

ELLEN COMIC BOOK IN STORES! A comic book about Ellen DeGeneres’ life is coming out today, and a part of the proceeds will benefit a good cause. According to People magazine, Bluewater Productions’ Female Force comics will give part of the $3.99 cost to the Humane Society of the United States, and the story in the comic will also touch on Ellen’s love of animals and her wanting to be a veterinarian as a child. The comic is in stores now.

JAMES FRANCO TO GET SCHOOLED AGAIN! Actor James Franco has been accepted into Yale University’s English PhD program. The actor has already received his undergraduate degree from UCLA, and a Master of Fine Arts from Columbia University. Fans can next see Franco in the Steve Carell-Tina Fey comedy Date Night. KATY PERRY TALKS NEW ALBUM

Katy Perry has just revealed some information about her forthcoming sophomore album, the follow-up to her hit debut One of the Boys. MTV News recently caught up with the pop star on a red carpet, and she said that it will be released this summer. She also described the effort, saying, “It's roller-skating! It's '90s! It's Ace of Base! It's Cyndi Lauper!” Perry also said that “there might be some really cool guest appearances by some cool rappers from the West Coast.” She recently posted a picture on her Twitter of herself with Snoop Dogg, so could she be alluding to a collaboration? MORE OPENERS ANNOUNCED FOR BON JOVI SHOWS

We reported yesterday that Train is set to open up for Bon Jovi at the first show ever at the new Meadowlands stadium, and now, some information has come out about the second and third shows as well. Both will still feature Bon Jovi as the headliner, but opening up for the band on the second night will be Gavin DeGraw, and then on the third will be OneRepublic. The shows are set to take place on the 26th, 27th and 29th of May.

MADONNA WORKS WITH DAUGHTER ON FASHION LINE

We recently reported that Madonna was going to be releasing Material Girl, a fashion line for juniors that will be available at Macy’s later in the year. Well the pop star didn’t have to look very far to find inspiration, because according to the Associated Press, Madge’s daughter Lourdes helped her create Material Girl. About working with her daughter, Madonna said that she “respects her tastes” and that they “rarely disagree.” Material Girl is due out in the fall.

ARE HOOTIE & THE BLOWFISH COMING BACK?

Could Hootie & the Blowfish be making a comeback? According to the New York Post, frontman Darius Rucker, who has previously said that there wouldn’t be any more new music from Hootie, has apparently changed his mind. AMY WINEHOUSE DELAYS ALBUM

Amy Winehouse has reportedly had to delay the release of her next album, the highly anticipated follow-up to 2006’s Back to Black. British paper the Daily Star is reporting that the embattled singer has decided to scrap some tracks because they were negatively directed at ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil, with whom she has since reconciled. A source said, “Amy has written some of her best songs ever for this album but she now feels like they don't belong. She's not going to put out an album just because her record company wants her to, so it's back to the drawing board.”

ADAM LAMBERT TO PERFORM AT GLAAD AWARDS

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Adam Lambert will perform at next month's Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) Media Awards. The singer is also nominated for Outstanding Music Artist. The GLAAD Awards, which take place in L-A on April 17th, will pay tribute to Wanda Sykes and Drew Barrymore.

GREEN DAY TALK NEW ALBUM

MTV News caught up with Green Day recently and the band got to talking about their new album. The group said they’re currently in the songwriting phase for the disc, which will be the follow-up to their 2009 album 21st Century Breakdown. Singer Billie Joe Armstrong told the outlet that they are trying to get back to the basics, which the singer says at first made them sound like crap. The effort is still a work in progress and for now, fans will just have to be happy with catching the Broadway play, American Idiot, which features Green Day’s music.

Tareq and Michaela Salahi, the couple who made a name for themselves by crashing the state dinner at the White House, will reportedly star on Bravo’s The Real Housewives of D.C., which debuts in July. According to The Daily Beast, the White House crashers are scheduled to promote the series in an interview with Matt Lauer on NBC on May 27th. The pair is also writing a tell-all book in which they plan to set the record straight about their alleged gate-crashing.

CHWIMMER MAD AT ANISTON! Some sources are telling the New York Daily News that David Schwimmer is pretty upset with his former Friends co-star, Jennifer Aniston. Schwimmer is mad that while on The Late Show with David Letterman, Jen said she didn’t know who David was engaged to. A person close to Schwimmer’s longtime girlfriend, Zoe Buckman, explained that David is hurt one of his “supposed friends” doesn’t know who he is marrying. According to Allred, the woman has hundreds of e-mails, texts and photos from the relationship she had with James.

Christina Aguilera has announced her fourth studio album, Bionic, will be released this summer. The first single is “Not Myself Tonight,” produced by Polow Da Don. SANDRA BULLOCK UPDATE! Three more news items have come out surrounding Sandra Bullock and the alleged affair her husband, Jesse James, had with a stripper.

· JESSE WANTS HER BACK! People.com reports that Jesse is doing everything he can to reconcile with Sandra and save their marriage.

· NO DIVORCE LAWYERS YET! Contrary to previous reports, neither Bullock nor her representatives have contacted any divorce lawyers at this point to discuss divorce proceeding against James.

· PRENUP! According to www.OkMagazine.com, Bullock and James’ signed a prenuptial agreement before they wed in 2005. The details of the financial arrangement are unknown at this time.

CANCER BATTLE. Dennis Hopper is still battling cancer. According to documents filed by Hopper’s lawyer, the 73-year-old actor is down to just over 100 pounds right now after his cancer treatment, and is spending all of his money on the procedures. Heigl told Entertainment Weekly that the main reason she wanted to leave the show is because of her new family. Back in September of 2009, Heigl and her husband, Josh Kelley, adopted a daughter from South Korea. It’s unclear how many more episodes she will be featured in or how she’ll exit the show, but regardless, her days are numbered.

TYLER PERRY’S NEW MOVIE! Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married Too? flick hasn’t even hit theatres yet, but the filmmaker has already announced his next project. According to the New York Daily News, Perry will be adapting the play For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf into a film. Janet Jackson, who stars in Why Did I Get Married Too?, will also appear in the new film, as will Whoopi Goldberg, Mariah Carey, Kerry Washington and Macy Gray.

REALITY STAR INJURED. According to TMZ, Real World: San Francisco cast member Puck and his son were severely injured in a car accident this week, and it seems like he was driving drunk at the time. Puck said the wreck happened when he swerved around a deer in the road, but police plan to arrest him for DUI. Puck’s eight-year-old son suffered damage to his liver and bruised several internal organs in the accident, but has been released from the hospital. Puck, however, broke six bones and will stay hospitalized for another week, but when he leaves, authorities will slap the cuffs on him. Puck was on the third season of the Real World, which aired in 1994.

SNL GETS POLITCAL! Minnesota’s Senator and former Saturday Night Live writer Al Franken has enlisted current S-N-L head writer and star Seth Meyers to help raise money for his political action committee. There are more details on Green Day’s American Idiot musical coming to the big screen. Michael Mayer, the director of the play, told Rolling Stone that something is definitely in the works. He said they want to deal with the opening of the Broadway show next month first before delving into the film project.
