Kettle Bells 101

by Christy Taylor

Need to mix up your workout? Try kettle bells. You know, those weird round weights with handles you’ve seen at the gym and on tv. They may seem a little intimidating at first…but give them a shot!

Using kettle bells, you can create a fun, effective work out that includes cardio, strength training and flexibility. The trick is simply learning the right form and doing a variety of exercises.

To get started, check out
22 kettle bell exercises . You’ll find pictures and instructions that are super easy to follow, from kettle bell squats, rows, to dead lifts and swings.

The article also breaks down every exercise and explains which muscles you’re targeting, so if you’re feeling strain in the wrong areas you can correct your form right away.

Using kettle bells is  more effective than hopping from machine to machine at the gym because you engage so many more muscles when forced to balance on your own. In fact, it’s one of the exercises my fitness trainer works into every work out because it’s great for all fitness levels.

Work in a few kettle bells at your next work out! Simply print off the exercises and take them to the gym next time you go!
