Going out to eat? Chew on this fat!

The average meal at a restaurant contains 58 grams of fat which is 89% of the recommended daily intake.

Researchers studied the calorie, sodium, fat and cholesterol levels of 685 meals and 156 desserts from 19 sit-down restaurants.

They found the average meal contains 1,128 calories which is over half of the 2,000 calories that are recommended in a day.

They also found that the average meal contains 151% of the recommended amount of sodium, 83% of the daily saturated and trans fats and 60% of the daily value for cholesterol.
